Qurat ul Ain Abuzar
Senior Full Stack designer
Robert L. Peters famously said “Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future.”
As a creative force within the company, I am tasked with infusing our brand with its core values and vision, which ultimately shapes the experiences and perceptions of our customers. I take pride in creating a seamless user experience while also employing visual touchpoints to amplify our brand’s voice and reinforce its identity.
What her typical work day looks like?
The excitement of being a designer stems from the unpredictability of a work week. Contrary to popular belief designers don’t spend most of their time doodling (sadly).
Depending on the scope of the projects, I am juggling between meetings and design sprints, collaborating with other stakeholders, reviewing feedback and working on the overall look and feel of the product interfaces.
What is the design team culture like at the company? Any traditions?
We thrive on collaboration, openness, and leveraging the strength of each team member to inculcate life and character into Seamless products. While creating this magic, we also never forget to have fun and celebrate our wins as one team.
PS: We live for the love of memes.
What’s an important lesson you’ve learned while working at Seamless?
Working at Seamless has taught me the importance of having diversity, a common goal, and a clear vision in an organization to have a launchpad for success. I have observed and learned that when you have a growth mindset and you are given the right platform and ecosystem to channel your energy towards a well-defined objective, you can make the impossible happen.
Are there any challenges that you often need to overcome?
I’m no stranger to navigating tight deadlines, which leaves little room for me to explore my full creative potential. Although it can be challenging at times, I relish the opportunity to collaborate with different teams to craft the best possible user experience for our customers. To ensure our work consistently hits the mark, I try to stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and methodologies.
What are your personal goals/objectives that you strive to achieve?
Having the opportunity to explore different design aspects with Seamless, my goal is to specialize in UX research and design which interests me deeply. My sights are set on driving my career towards product design and ownership, where I can truly take ownership of every aspect of the design process. And as I continue to grow professionally, I aspire to become a dynamic and inspiring team leader.
Any big personal wins at Seamless that you’re particularly proud of?
As a new member of the team, I faced the unique challenge of being the sole designer on board. But I’m proud to say that I rose to the occasion, deftly juggling multiple projects and ensuring each one was delivered to the highest standard. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I look forward to continuing to grow with the team and tackle whatever challenges come our way.
And finally, how do you unwind from work?
Painting and Interior decoration: my unbridled creativity spills into my personal life as well and at home I often switch my adobe tools for a paint brush. Besides that, there’s nothing more refreshing/rejuvenating than a simple walk in nature or connecting with my family.
